She has also completed her undergraduate studies at AUB in both: Psychology and Political Studies with a minor in Human Rights and Transitional Justice. She has extensive experience working in academic research where she has participated in different studies relating to political and social psychology. She also has experience in the NGO sector; she served on the board of the Lebanese national association of CISV International, a volunteer-based international non-governmental which works on youth empowerment and whose mission is to inspire action for a more just and peaceful world. She is currently serving her term as National Association Representative for the same organization.

Also, she has taken part in a one year cultural exchange program to the USA where she was engaged in many youth-led activities as well as multi-cultural discussions aiming at empowering the relations between the East and the West. She has always been interested in the notion of democracy among people from different cultural backgrounds and the ways of effective youth involvement in the local government. She truly believes that in order to build a strong community in the future, one should start with building strong foundations within the youth of today.

Cynthia Najjar is a Shadow Participant of Deloris Saad. Cynthia Najjar, born and raised in Lebanon, has BS in Public Health in Development Sciences. Throughout her younger years, she has been continuously involved in activities promoting youth involvement in different aspects of society, including scouting movements and development-related activities revolving around waste management, literacy projects and spreading health, environment, and civic engagement awareness messages among school-aged children. Also, she has taken part in a one year cultural exchange program to the USA where she was engaged in many youth-led activities as well as multi-cultural discussions aiming at empowering the relations between the East and the West. She has always been interested in the notion of democracy among people from different cultural backgrounds and the ways of effective youth involvement in the local government.
