Georgia Shiaelou is a holder of an MA (Merit) degree in GIS, Landscape Archaeology and Virtual Environments from the University of Birmingham-Department of Classics, Ancient History and Archaeology, UK. She also holds an MBA from the University of Cyprus- School of Economics and Management and a BA in History and Archaeology from the University of Cyprus- Department of History and Archaeology. During her studies she gained considerable practical experience in various archaeological excavations including archaeological surveying and in application developments for spatial analysis, visualisation and imaging using state-of-the-art technology at VISTA center, one of the best-equipped archaeological visualisation laboratories in UK. Georgia worked the last six years on various projects where she supported main project management tasks. She also had an active role as researcher at the ‘Archaia Kypriaki Grammateia Digital Corpus’ (AKGDC) project, funded by the A. G. Leventis Foundation, where she was able to gain knowledge on CMS and coding. Having worked in a multicultural environment for over seven years she was urged to develop an interdisciplinary approach to her research and on-site work in order to synthesize business knowledge and practice in the field of social sciences.
