Lina Maria Jaramillo Rojas is one of the Peer Empowerment and Support Mentors of the European SDDP of the Reinventing Democracy in the Digital Era project.
She is the peer mentor of Nikola Kostić and Anastasiia Klymentenko from the European Initiative and James Gondwe from the African Initiative.
Lina Maria is also a Core participant in the American Initiative.
Lina Maria is from Colombia. She has a BA in Political Science and two master degrees: International Studies from the University of Barcelona in Spain (2007-2008), and an MSC in International Development from Bristol University in the UK (2012-2013). She has been awarded by Colombian government with the Colfuturo Scholarship Program in 2011 and also was awarded by the British government with the Chevening scholarship programme in 2012. In 2015 she was awarded by the International Cooperation Agency of Korea –KOICA- as scholar in a short-time training course for the creation of self-reliant local communities.
During the last 8 years Lina Maria has worked in her country with different international organizations as well as governmental entities on issues related to human development, armed conflict, and inclusive economic development projects as peace-building mechanisms. Her experience as knowledge management specialist was obtained while she was working with the United Nations Development Programme at regional and national level, since where she contributed to develop methodologies, tools and strategies oriented to identify, disseminate and sharing knowledge around developmental and international cooperation areas and stakeholders.
At the present time Lina Maria is working as knowledge management officer at Oxfam International in a regional project of sustainable food systems. During her free time she works as local correspondent in Colombia for an international organisation called Peace Direct, in a project focused to identify and mapping peace-building initiatives implemented at local level by civil society organisations in conflict areas around the globe.
