'''Abdulkarim Taraja''' was born in January 26, 1992 in Mt. Elgon western Kenya. He is yet to graduate at the University of Kabianga where he pursued Bachelor of Science in Communication and Public Relations with extra knowledge in media both broadcast and print.Soon after campus, he got a chance to work with the County Government of Bungoma in Western Kenya as head of Communications for the Deputy Governor.

The Communication, Media and PR Specialist and yet to graduate student is of more passionate to seeing change. Born and brought up in Mt. Elgon, Western Kenya had a more serious and turbulent life that affected his education for some time but who refused to give up.  


Abdulkarim has a passion to working with vulnerable groups such as Children in remote areas, Women and people with disability who do not access the information necessary in their lives. He is also a believer of change in systems to align with the changes in the 21st century.  
He is a Co-Participant of the Reinventing Democracy in the Digital Era (African Initiative) and Future Worlds Centers Agent with substantive knowledge of the Structured Democratic Dialogue Process (SDDP). He is an Ambassador of the Social Transformation Youth Program in Kenya that was established by the Inter-religious Council of Kenya (IRCK) in 2015 that is meant to socially transform Kenya.


He is also a Social Transformation Program Ambassador in Keya courtesy of the Interreligious Council of Kenya (IRCK) and Youth Interfaith Network in Kenya both bringing together youth and religion to address issues of Values in Governance.
Taraja is an alumni of the 3rd African Model United Nations (AfroMUN) where youth were taken through International Diplomacy and Relations at the United Nations Offices in Nairobi. He is a member of Youth Alliance for Leadership and Development in Africa (YALDA) and its founder of the YALDA Kabianga Branch.
 
Passion in Environmental issues such conservation also is his hobby.


He is an independent writer, blogger and journalist reporting on different issues ranging from politics, democracy, governance and environment. He is currently in plans to work with Global Education Futures- a group of Scientists and Education fanatics to discuss the future of education in the era expansive technology and hoping to be in Cyprus at the end of August.


He is a founding member of Elgon Young Professionals (EYP) in his Community that is helping in improving girl child education and founding member of the Elgon Prayer Movement (EPM) that is being officially launched on 26th Aug, 2016. EPM is a movement that uses religion to promote unity, peace and open governance in a society that has since faced challenges in Unity.
