Abdulkarim Taraja is a core Participant of the Reinventing Democracy in the Digital Era - African Co-Laboratory project and Future Worlds Center Agent with substantive knowledge of the Structured Democratic Dialogue process (SDDP).

His Peer Empowerment and Support Mentors is Andreas Kamilaris.

Abdulkarim Taraja is a young man full of energy for transformation. The Communication, Media and PR Specialist graduate and passionate to seeing change. Born and brought up in Mt. Elgon, Western Kenya had a more serious and turbulent life that affected his education for some time but who refused to give up.

He is an Ambassador of the Social Transformation Youth Program in Kenya that was established by the Inter-religious Council of Kenya (IRCK) in 2015 that is meant to socially transform Kenya.

Taraja is an alumni of the 3rd African Model United Nations (AfroMUN) where youth were taken through International Diplomacy and Relations at the United Nations Offices in Nairobi. He is a member of Youth Alliance for Leadership and Development in Africa (YALDA) and its founder of the YALDA Kabianga Branch.

He is an independent writer, blogger and journalist reporting on different issues ranging from politics, democracy, governance and environment. He is currently in plans to work with Global Education Futures- a group of Scientists and Education fanatics to discuss the future of education in the era expansive technology and hoping to be in Cyprus at the end of August.

He is a founding member of Elgon Young Professionals (EYP) in his Community that is helping in improving girl child education and founding member of the Elgon Prayer Movement (EPM) that is being officially launched on 26th Aug, 2016. EPM is a movement that uses religion to promote unity, peace and open governance in a society that has since faced challenges in Unity.
