Hey! I am Omang, a Peacebuilder, aiming to build capacity in youth through community development work via Youth for Peace International an organisation I Co-founded. I also serve as Asia Co-ordinator for Commonwealth Youth Peace Ambassadors Network and have been working on Refugee rehabilitation and building counter narratives to prevent Violent Extremism and Hate Speech.

My indulgence in social development in the conflict prone North-East India inspired my capacity to realise the surface of opportunities, that if provided to youth could yield substantive changes through the essence of Peacebuilding. Therefore, I started Interact clubs with Rotary International connecting remotest of regions to further contextualize my theme. The winter camp project under the banner of Interact club, that strived against the backdrop of political disturbances, further inspired my objective to co- found ACT-ASIA, a global forum for regional social youth wings to engage in global solution and International understanding oriented programmes.

I am a Queen’s Young Leader awardee and have been nominated for Government of India’s National Youth Award. I share my enthusiasm with Sufi music and adventurous sports equally.
