Mirjamkay Foundation is a Liaison organization of Reinventing Democracy in the Digital Era.

Mirjamkay Foundation is a non-governmental nonprofit making organization that has been in Ghana since 2013 but gained recognizance in 2016. It is an organization that recognizes a lot of global challenges and work towards resolving them. It focuses on seeing a world that stays in a globalized peace system.

The vision of the organization is to see a society where empowered children, youth leaders and adults work alongside each other to create a just and equitable atmosphere in prospering communities.

The organization has the mission of developing, educating and empowering rural communities in terms of education, sustainable development, youth mobilization, renewal energies, health, poverty eradication and women and conflict prevention and resolution. The organization uses innovative approaches and teams up with other NGOs to see the set goals and targets been actualized. The organization’s partnership with other NGOs is a means of ensuring and promoting sustainable rural development and growth.

The organization is pegged by three strong pillars; global learning, youth empowerment and education. Under these pillars, the organization edges closer to changing the global world to a peaceful era by adding values, skills and knowledge to the youth.

Global education is a creative approach of bringing about change in our society. Global education is an active learning process based on the universal values of tolerance, solidarity, equality, justice, inclusion, co-operation and non-violence. Global learning is the education that opens people’s eyes and minds to the realities of globalized world and awakens them to bring out a world of greater justice. Global learning encompasses peace education, good citizenship education, education for sustainable development, human rights education and other humanitarian education.

Global education begins with raising awareness of global challenges such as poverty or the inequalities caused by the uneven distribution of resources, environmental degradation, violent conflicts or human rights, thus creating deeper understanding of the complexity of the underlying causes. It aims to change people ‘s attitudes by them reflecting on their own roles in their communities and world at large. Global education motivates and empowers people to become active, responsible global citizens. Global learning is also based on values
• tolerance, solidarity, fairness and justice, empathy, equality
• responsibility, co-operation, non-violence
• inclusion, diversity

The second pillar youth empowerment is also very pivotal in helping the organization reach its set goals. The organization empowers the youth to take charge of their life’s becoming change agents and impacting their life’s and that of the society. Youth empowerment approaches involve adult-youth partnerships and a democratic decision-making process. Youth empowerment approaches include strategies which give young people opportunities for meaningful involvement and participation in their education or support services. The organization focuses on five (5) key areas of work to be able to get the youth to be more decisive and thereby been empowered. These key areas are great means of getting the youth to be attention and they include; social and leisure provision where by means of enjoyment the youth will not miss it, character building, personal and social development, political participation where youth full or partial involvement in politics is enhanced and youth welfare. In the area of youth welfare, the organization creates an atmosphere for providing professional assistance to youth with special needs and it could involve counselling, money or any others.

Education in a rather broad sense is one of the strongest pillars of the organization. A right to education has been recognized by some governments, including at the global level: Article 13 of the United Nations' 1966 International Covenant on Economic, Social and Cultural Rights recognizes a universal right to education. In most regions education is compulsory up to a certain age. Education is the process of facilitating learning, or the acquisition of knowledge, skills, values, beliefs, and habits. The organization seeks to deliver affordable education to primary schools in rural areas with the goal of creating responsible self-reliant adults. The organization seeks to achieve this goal by equipping children and the youth with relevant and knowledge that will help transform the nation. The organization is a forward looking one and as such will stop at nothing to see its intended purposes achieved.
