He chose this major because he have always believed in the power of democracy and he also wanted to learn more about it and see how it could be implemented in war-torn or divided countries such as Lebanon. He has done several internships that have opened his eyes to the many problems that Lebanon is currently facing and that need to be tackled in order for the country to become a proper democracy. For example, he did an internship with a local anti-corruption NGO called “Sakker el Dekkenne”. It became clearer for him after this internship how corrupt Lebanon is and how much it lacks transparency. In addition to that, he did another internship at the Ministry of Environment (MoE) in Beirut, as well as several student jobs, one of which regarding child marriage in Lebanon among locals and refugees. As for his future plans, he is currently thinking of pursuing a Master’s degree in “Public Policy and Public Administration” at Concordia University in Montreal.
