Rafay Iqbal Ansari is a core participant of the Reinventing Democracy in the Digital Era - European co-Laboratory.


Rafay Iqbal Ansari was born in Pakistan. He is currently working towards the Ph.D. degree in Computer Engineering from Frederick University, Cyprus under Erasmus Mundus Scholarship program.

He is an active researcher at Networks Research Laboratory (NETLAB), Department of Computer Science and Engineering of Frederick University, Cyprus. His research interests lie in energy-efficient wireless communication and 5G device-to-device (D2D) networks. Previously, he has completed his Masters degree in Electrical Engineering from National University of Sciences and Technology, Pakistan and Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from COMSATS Institute of Information Technology, Pakistan.

Alongwith, pursuing research in technology, he also keeps abreast of current socio-economic developments in the world. He is active in participating and contributing on several forums which tackle and discuss social and political problems in the society. Moreover, he has keen interest in analysing the impact of developments in the technology on the society.

He is a co-founder and editor of a facebook page "Humans of Nicosia". The page is dedicated to sharing stories of the people of Nicosia, Cyprus. We share stories which signify the inspiration, hope and struggle of the people and their beliefs related to peace and equality in the world.
